Chee Cheong Fun is a popular street food that consists of steamed rice rolls drizzled with dark or light soy sauce. There is a variety of Chee Cheong Fun that you can try. Some might add bits of Char Siew or prawns to their Chee Cheong Fun. The Chee Cheong Fun served at Canning Garden is one of the most well known ones you should try. The steamed rice rolls is smooth and soft, drizzled with soy sauce, shallot oil, and sweet red sauce, garnished with sesame seeds and fried shallots, with pickled green chillies at the side.

Dim Sum is also one of the must eat when you make a visit to Ipoh. Foh San, Yoke Fook Moon and Ming Court are the Dim Sum restaurants that people think of when they think Ipoh Dim Sum. Foh San has been around for decades and is famous among the locals. It might get hectic during peak hours so do come early to avoid the crowd. Ming Court is another must visit Dim Sum restaurant in Ipoh. The Har Gow, Yaw Char Kway and Chee Cheong Fun in Yook Fook Moon are worth a try as well.

Tau Fu Fah, also known as soy bean curd is famous in Ipoh as well. There are two places that you can visit to cure your Tau Fu Fah craving: Funny Mountain Tau Fu Fah and Woong Kee Tau Fu Fah. Both Funny Mountain Tau Fu Fah and Woong Kee Tau Fu Fah are the local’s favourite when it comes to Tau Fu Fah. The Tau Fu Fah served here is smooth and soft, and requires no chewing at all.  Woong Kee’s Tau Fu Fah allows you too add in some sides as well, such as peanuts, cincau, red beans, glutinous rice balls and chrysanthemum sugar.
